Sports Acupuncture

Achieve maximum level performance

What is sports Acupuncture?

Sports Acupuncture fuses ancient Chinese Medicine with modern sports science to heal injuries, accelerate recovery between workouts, and enhance athletic performance.

When muscle imbalances throw your body out of alignment, pain follows. Sports Acupuncture rebalances muscles, strengthens connective tissues, boosts circulation, increases mobility, and eliminates pain—getting you back to peak performance faster.

How does it work?

Our practitioners blend traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostics with modern orthopedic evaluation and muscle testing to precisely locate tissue injuries. We target motor points and trigger points to reactivate dysfunctional muscle fibers through a therapeutic "twitch response"—essentially resetting your muscles to release tension and increase flexibility.

Motor points—highly responsive areas on muscle bellies with concentrated nerve endings—create controlled twitches when needled and are ideal for correcting muscle imbalances, improving range of motion, and enhancing performance.

Trigger points—commonly known as "knots"—differ by appearing anywhere on affected muscles and causing radiating pain when pressed. Their treatment typically produces more noticeable twitches and may cause temporary dull aches. These are particularly effective for acute pain patterns.

Other Treatments

Sports Acupuncture also includes the use of cupping, gua sha, and e-stim to help relieve pain and rebalance the body. These adjunct therapies are included in the treatment as needed.

Chinese Herbal Therapy can also be a great adjunct to Sports Acupuncture. Herbal formulas are available to help with the healing process, decrease pain and inflammation, decrease bruising, and more. Some formulas can be taken orally, but most formulas for Sports Acupuncture work even better when used topically. These topical formulas come as poultices, powders, soaks, lotions, and oils.
